Standby mode brings thermostat down from laminating temperature of 300"F to 150"F while machine is not being used resulting in an energy savings of over 50%. (Warm-up time from 150"F back to laminating temperature of 300"F is only 7 minutes).

One hour auto shutoff shuts the machine down resulting in further energy savings when the machine is not in use.
