The 240.1 S5 is able to shred materials apart from paper such as credit cards, smart cards, clips, staples, floppy disks and CDs/DVDs. The Kobra 240.1 S5 shredders are capable of shredding such materials as they have carbon hardened cutting knives. The exclusive design of the 240.1 S5 strip-cut shredders allow a precise and exact shredding job. Further, the 240.1 S5 is able to shred large quantity of loads while consuming little power. Also, the size of the paper entry opening is large enough to fit 26 sheets at once. Kobra 240.1 S5 shredders have a heavy duty chain drive system. Also, the motor of the Kobra 240.1 S5 allows 24 hours continuous shredding without the need for cool down periods.

The Energy Smart system integrated in the Kobra 240.1 S5 strip-cut shredder provides assistance in energy costs savings as well as conserving power. In addition, one of the benefits of the Energy Smart system include reducing the amount of carbon dioxide that is released into the environment. This management system functions by monitoring the usage of the shredder. If the shredder is left idle for 8 seconds then it will automatically switch to stand-by mode. It has an automatic reverse system that solves any problems regarding a jam. Kobra 240.1 S5 strip-cut shredders are sturdy and reliable.
